Our Story

Meet the faces behind the farm

Aileen & Alex

Aileen is a cut flower grower with a love for local blooms and healthy soil. What began as a passion for growing flowers that reflect the season, soon grew into a farm and floral business.

Alex is a third-generation pear, apple, and cherry grower from the Hood River Valley. He works full time managing Ing Orchards, continuing a legacy built on hard work and respect for the land.

When Aileen decided to start her cut flower business, it felt only natural to share the incredible fruit grown by Alex’s family as well. Together, alongside both of our families, we now operate Maggie’s Farm and Ing Orchards—bringing together flowers and fruit, tradition and new beginnings.

The Moms!

Whether it’s harvesting in the field, hauling compost or working at the market booth Melissa (left) and Nancy (right) are up for it all! We couldn’t run this operation without both of their support.

Alex’s mom Melissa grew up in Wamic, Oregon and has three children and one grandchild. Melissa lives within Ing Orchards with her husband Ed. She is a former florist and school teacher, and stays very involved in the community to this day!

Aileen’s mom Nancy grew up in Washington and has now relocated to Hood River. Her beautiful property currently has one of our main flower fields. She is a former radio DJ and ski rep that has always had a passion for the outdoors!

Maggie & Marvin

Maggie is the namesake of the farm and Alex and Aileen’s first dog. Her original home was Alex’s grandma Suzy’s farm where she found her passion for hunting squirrels. When grandma Suzy passed Alex took her in and brought her to Hood River. Maggie loved riding around on the Kubota, chasing the ball and being around all of her people. Sadly we lost Maggie December of 2024, but we love to see her face every day on our logo.

Marvin is Maggie’s younger and more mischievous brother. Alex and Aileen adopted him from Hood River Adopt-A-Dog and he has loved farm life ever since. Marvin enjoys playing tug, rides in the Kubota and sprinting through the flowers (usually causing some destruction in his path).

The Builder!

Aileen’s dad David is the farms go to guy when it comes to infrastructure. Whether it be hoop houses, seedling tables, greenhouses or raised beds he lends a hand without hesitation!

The Ing Family!

Ing Orchard’s Red Barn

“It is hard to express in words how beautiful our wedding flowers from Maggie’s Farm were. Aileen took the time to listen to our vision and curate stunning arrangements and bouquets that aligned not only with our wedding floral dreams, but with the seasonal abundance of her farm. From the dripping Amarantha and dusty rose and yellow dahlias of the bridal bouquet to the dried florals filling bud vases on the tables, the flowers felt like magic and every detail was expertly handled with care. Thank you!”
